As far as curriculum goes? I have closets full of curriculum, but none of them matter without ~ Matthew 6:33 “But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.”
I teach the Bible, which is true wisdom, along with real-life application in a Homeschool environment. My goal in education is to focus on meaningful lessons that a student will use in the future.
I love Charlotte Mason methods, and Project Based Learning, but I also pull from any curriculum that suits the child, including the best lessons and strategies I know from teaching public schools.
AIM Academic Pod's approach to curriculum is a mixture of all of the above. Curriculum is meaningless unless it is God centered and adapted to a student's interests and needs. AIM's approach is intending to lead students to be successful according to God's purpose.
I have been doing this for a while. As a result, my approach is slow and steady wins the race. My goal is to assess where a child is academically, then work to achieve their greatest strides.
I believe in hands-on learning , preferably through Project Based lessons. In other words, a real-life approach to curriculum is my style of teaching. Click below if you would like to view Charlotte Mason and Project Based Learning examples that I prefer.
